Ron Dimpflmaier
Ron Dimpflmaier, aka @CptnRon302 is a backyard BBQ and grilling guy who loves preparing delicious meals for his family and friends. His love for food started at a young age while helping his mother and grandmother around the kitchen. That love grew as he got older and has grown into great passion for him. Ron believes that anything can be cooked on the Big Green Egg.

While in high school in Long Island, NY, Ron worked in pizzerias and that love for pizza has never left. He is known for creating some amazing pizza pies on his EGGs and loves to experiment with new toppings and methods. According to him, there are no limits to what can go in or on a pizza! He has lived in Florida for over 30 years, soaking up the sun and enjoying his family and creating mouthwatering dishes.
His first Big Green Egg was a birthday present from his parents after watching him battle with a small bullet smoker. To say he fell in love instantly would be an understatement. He quickly realized that he loved his EGG and the community surrounding it. After his first Eggfest cooking experience, he was even more hooked. He quickly started an Instagram page and a FaceBook group, Big Green Eggers of South Florida. Over the years, the EGGs in Rons yard have multiplied to what most would call a collection or maybe even an obsession. Ron participates in many Eggfests and was the North Florida EGGfest Champion in 2020. As strong as his love for EGG cooking is, it’s only outshined by his love for sharing his EGGsperience and helping others. He teaches BBQ & grilling classes and is a true ambassador to the BGE community. Ron‘s motto is, “Get Out and Grill!”

Low Country Seafood Paella
Our Low Country Seafood Paella is a celebration of the coastal flavors of South Carolina and Georgia—regions where rice farming and abundant fresh seafood define the culinary heritage. We’ve taken the essence of classic Valencian seafood paella—short-grain rice like bomba infused with saffron, paprika, and sofrito—and reimagined it with a Southern twist. Expect:
- Locally inspired ingredients: shrimp, scallops, and smoked sausage
- Rich sofrito foundation with onion, garlic, sweet peppers, and smoky paprika.
- The golden saffron‑kissed rice and the coveted “socarrat”—that irresistible, slightly crispy crust at the bottom of the pan that’s every paella lover’s dream. Direct heat from a Big Green Egg delivers that crunch, with flavorful smoke.

Matt and Anna are the nerds behind BBQ Nerds, a brand born from their shared love of cooking, science, gadgets, and technology.
BBQ Nerds is all about making delicious cooking accessible, from quick and easy meals to traditional low and slow barbecue. They focus on sharing tips, powerful insight, and fun entertainment for food-lovers of all skill levels.
What started as a personal project to curate and share recipes with friends and family quickly grew into something more. The initial inspiration came from a cherished recipe for Chicago Style Italian Beef from Matt’s dad. The desire to share this beloved recipe with the world sparked a bigger idea.
The journey took an exciting turn after Matt and Anna won a Large Big Green Egg in a raffle at the Central Florida Fall EggFest. Taking a joking challenge from the organizers seriously, they signed up to cook the following year. They needed a team name, and “BBQ Nerds” was born. From that event, their passion project snowballed. They found themselves cooking for people, developing a brand, gaining social media followers, and receiving requests to cater and cook at private events.
Driven by a genuine passion for food and fun, Matt and Anna continue to explore and share their culinary adventures.
